Thinking about a getaway with your dog/dogs. Below are some of my favorite hotels that allow dogs.
Keswick Hall: Charlottesville, VA. Rooms run $221 per night on a holiday weekend. Well behaved pets up to 75lbs are allowed. They have a “Pampered Pooch” package that includes: Welcome treat, Comfy beds, food and water bowls. Gourmet chef prepared meals such as filet mignon and meatloaf can be prepared for your pooch at an extra cost. They also have pet-sitting available for $10 per hr for 1 pet or $12 per hr for 2 pets for your use while you are off enjoying a wine tour. You might also spot singer Pink with her dog Bubba who both love this resort.
Alexis Hotel: Seattle, WA Seattle is a city that LOVES their dogs so of course you should expect a few dog friendly hotels. This one is my favorites and rooms run $165 per night on a holiday weekend. They don’t have any pet size restrictions and although they are a true pet-friendly hotel, this place is pristine so even someone that doesn’t own a dog would love this hotel. There are no additional pet fee’s but they have pet-sitting and walking available at an extra cost. For dog owners this is a fantastic location in Seattle; only a few blocks from the waterfront and Pikes Place Market. They also have complimentary evening wine service. You might spot Rihanna and her dog Oliver.
Liberty Hotel: Boston MA The rooms are pricey here but totally worth it at $348 per night on a holiday weekend for the Paw Prints package. What makes this hotel a cool destination is that it was converted from an old jailhouse into the modern palace it is now AND they treat dogs like royalty. With their “Paw Prints” package you will get a complimentary pet portrait sitting with Muddy Paw Studio and 4X6 print ( a $250-500 value). They also provide designer bowls, beds, and all natural treats. They host a “Yappier Hour” every Wednesday from 5-7 where hotel guests and locals sip drinks while the dogs play in the hotels private courtyard. There is also a dog park only blocks away from this hotel.
Auberge Resorts: (This includes three AMAZING resorts- Calistoga Ranch, Napa Valley CA; Esperanza, Cabo San Lucas Mexico, and the Inn at Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina). All of these hotels offer the most amazing and luxurious dog beds, pet room service with meals such as Ground Beef and Rice, Diced Chicken and Pasta and High Protein Beef Sirloin. Also each resort has added a couple of their own extras as well:
- Calistoga Ranch: Complimentary guided hikes in Calistoga Ranch’s secluded canyon setting, organic pet treats and spring water, bags for cleanup and a pet ID tag that says “Guest of Calistoga Ranch.
- Esperanza: Complimentary pet kits that include: toys and a 30 minute pet massage. They also have pet walking services along the beach or a desert trail hike.
- Inn at Palmetto Bluff: Pet baskets with fun treats, toys, personalized goodies and pet spa products. They have pet walking/sitting services or you can choose to bring your dogs on all of your activities such as boat rides along the May River (doggie life jackets included), trips to a sand bar for fetch or long nature hikes around their peaceful property. Palmetto also hosts a Dog Days of Summer weekend (Usually in August) that includes two days of boat rides; a doggie parade with contests and prizes; a village fair with activities including games, doggie DJ, pet food tastings, and more; a movie night where dogs and their owners can watch a movie together.
